A few years ago, the youth group in our church decided to hold a Stars
in Their Eyes evening, allowing about ten entrants/groups of entrants
to appear on stage and, in the style of a pop star or musical group, perform
a song that they were well known for. Of course, the winner would be decided
by the usual democratic vote.
Mum and Dad decided to appear on stage as Sonny & Cher, singing I Got
You Babe. Unfortunately, Dad kept forgetting his lines… so Mum decided
that they would send it up and they dressed up as school kids. Even I was
kept in the dark about what they were actually doing. It was hilarious.
Sadly, they didn’t win! Must have been a fix…
